Fowles Wine

Fowles Wine is a proud presenting partner of Four Vines Running Festival

As the premier Victorian winery to be awarded the Great Australian Shiraz Challenge trophy, Fowles Wine is a prime destination for visitors. It is located in the Strathbogie Ranges. Formed 360 million years ago, this mountain range of granite boulders was forced by volcanic power out of the ocean. This prime spot for vineyards eroded by nature has enabled Fowles to manage 360 acres of vines. The combination of the granite, sandy clay and clay bedrock is what allows the Strathbogie grapes to flourish and the secret to creating a delicious drop of wine!

Only 15 minutes from the Hume Freeway, Fowles Wine is a great place to visit and has lots to offer. Indulge your tastebuds with lunch at the Cellar Door café, have a more in-depth experience via a tour to learn more about the ancient art of winemaking or simply take in the beautiful scenery of the surrounding family-owned vineyards. Private tours can be arranged prior to visiting the winery by dropping them a line through their email address: info@fowleswine.com.

Reservations are also recommended for the Cellar Door café to assure yourself a table in the busy periods. With delicious food such as high quality steak and free-range lamb proudly manufactured at the Killeen Station, food is served at reasonable prices and complemented with a great selection of wine. The Killeen station also known as the Fowles farm covers 2500 acres of land in the Strathbogie Ranges, so you know the winery is producing quality produce, paddock to plate.

A popular glass to have is Ladies who Shoot their Lunch wine, who CEO Matt Fowles created to complement wild game meat. Wine Cellar Door and Café is a lovely place to stop for lunch. The restaurant has views of the vineyard, so you can sit and enjoy the wine whilst gazing upon the vines it was grown from. This restaurant also accommodates for special dietary requirements such as allergies and intolerances.
